Jet Airways History The Founder & Chairman of Jet Airways Mr. Naresh Goyal founded the company Jetair (Private) Limited back in 1974 this was a company that represented airlines with sales and marketing acitivites in India. In 1991 as part of his growing businesses and the Indian economy opening up he decided to set up the operation of Jet Airways and by 1993 Jet Airways had taken to the skies. In 2007 Jet Airways acquired Air Sahara another Indian International Airline, which they later rebranded as JetLite a low cost subsidiary of Jet Airways. In 2014 JetLite along with another Jet brand JetKonnect merged in to the one operating brand of Jet Airways.
Jet Airways Fleet In 2017 Jet Airways has a fleet size of 149 aircraft which are a mixture of Boeing, Airbus and ATR's. Currently they have an order for 79 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 10 Boeing 787-9 which they expect to start to receive throughout 2017 and 2018. Jetairways operates three classes First, Première (Business) and Economy class cabins. Their First class suite has a full flat bed, personal LCD TV and in-seat power supply. Their First class is only available only their Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. On all of their long-haul international flights they offer their Première class cabin on board of their Airbus A330-200's and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Their Première class cabin features recliner seats, fully flat beds with personal LCD TVs and in-seat power. All of Jet Airways long-haul economy class seats have a seat pitch of 32 inches (810 mm) . Domestic flights are operated by their Boeing 737's or ATR's with a seat pitch of 30 inches (760 mm). As Jet Airways is a full service airline they provide meals in all classes of service.
