About Malawian Airlines
Established in 2013, Malawi Airlines is a JV between Malawi's Government (51%) and Ethiopian Airlines (49%). The carrier launched with an investment of USD20 million and two aircraft provided by Ethiopian Airlines in Jan-2014. Malawi Airlines received its air operator's certificate from Malawi's Department of Civil Aviation on 03-Jan-2014. The carrier was initially called Malawian Airlines until Sep-2016.
